On April 27, 2026, the Royal Dornoch Gondola Company (RDGC) addressed transit deficits facing the Dornoch Music Festival (July 17–18, 2026).

Transit Deficits

• No Rail Access: Dornoch lacks a rail station. The nearest stop on the Far North Line is Tain, 10 miles away, which is plagued by reliability issues.
• Economic Pressures: High taxi costs (£60–£80 from Inverness) and "intolerable" fuel bills limit traditional travel options.

Gondolic Activation Event

To resolve these issues, RDGC declared the festival weekend a "Gondolic Activation Event," aligning with its Annual Board Meeting:

• Service: RDGC's Tain-to-Brora corridor (with stops at Dornoch, Dunrobin Castle, and Golspie) will provide direct elevated transit.
• Onboard Catering: Jack Clemens (Food Service) is negotiating refreshment partnerships for passengers.
• Station Welcome: Dornoch Station Master Stan Pennington will host recruitment and information booths at the Dornoch deck.
• Technology: The Advanced Tdg/3s fleet features 99.3–99.9% reliability and functions safely in wind speeds exceeding 100 kph.
